Picnics & Lunches

We are delighted to announce that our Hartenberg picnics are back!

 

We have sourced local produce including cheeses from Dalewood Fromage and fresh seasonal veggies from our neighbour, Masons Farm, as well as bread baked on our farm and our renowned Eleanor’s Snoek Paté – the recipe for this paté is a guarded secret and known by only a handful a people, having been passed down from Eleanor Finlayson who owned the estate with her husband Maurice in the late 1940s.

 

Other savoury goodies include locally produced charcuterie, hummus, spanakopita and a homemade Scotch egg, with our homemade salted caramel fudge to finish.

Beautiful Summer's Afternoon

Served in our beautiful gardens with views across our estate, guests can choose a spot on the grass or in the shade of  the many trees, and while away a summer’s afternoon.  From now until 30 November we are also including a complimentary bottle of wine between 2 people – guests can choose from our Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Doorkeeper Merlot Malbec or Doorkeeper GSM (wine to be consumed on our premises). 

Picnics are R295 per person and available Thursday to Sunday from 12h00 to 14h00 – booking is essential. 

We are happy to create vegetarian and vegan options, and will endeavour to accommodate food allergies – please advise when booking.

Due to COVID restrictions we are inviting guests to bring their own picnic blankets and cushions.
